Will I let God happen? What a powerful question as we walk together toward the ending of our retreat!
May I offer a simple suggestion for this day: that each one of us find the time to sit and be still for three minutes (time yourself if you have to . . .), close our eyes, and say to God, softly and slowly: "Will I let you happen?" Pause - then go deeper - and maybe ask even more slowly: "Will I let you happen?" Then sit in silence and just hold the question. Three minutes. Fill them with quiet, with peace, with hope, with trust. Fill them with a desire and a willingness to believe.
It can change your life.

I am still a bit behind in the retreat as I began a bit late. However I keep up with the blogs. It is interesting to me that i have not heard this, "Will I let God happen to me", because I am not yet near Day 29. However, as I have been on federal jury duty until today, that is exactly what I have been asking for. To allow the Holy Spirit to speak to me, to enliven all the gifts I received at Confirmation, to have wisdom, prudence, etc. One never knows what will be asked of us. I did, thank God, let Him "happen" to me. To use our God-given gifts to discern the truth.
